The Ångstrom Advanced Battery Centre (ÅABC), is an integral part of the Department of Chemistry – Ångström Laboratory, Uppsala University UU); it is housed within the Ångström Laboratory, one of Europe’s best-equipped Materials Research Laboratories. The Centre involves the full-time activities of 35-40 researchers comprising 6 Senior researchers and PhD students and postdocs. ÅABC is led by Prof. Kristina Edström, and it is one of the leading basic research environments for the development of electrochemical storage materials and advanced battery technology in the Nordic countries. It is a member of SEC (The Swedish Electromobility Centre) and different Horizon2020 projects. The role of ÅABC in this project is to support characterization of silicon anodes cycled in different ways in Li-ion batteries.
